About Alison
I've been hooked on photography ever since my Dad gave me his old Pentax camera when I was 14 years old. While I was a student at Brown University, I had the opportunity to take classes at nearby Rhode Island School of Design. I've worked as a photographer since college, shooting portraits in studio and candid settings as well as photographing events. Photography work has included: USO, Variety, Old House Journal, Kodak, Rapp Collins Worldwide, Vornado, Ironshore, and more. I live in Hastings On Hudson, New York with my husband and three kids. In addition to photography, I've worked as an actress and received an M.F.A. from NYU’s Tisch School of Arts. My love of working with children led to developing a theatre games and improvisation program for kids, skills I use in my family photography work. I've now passed that old Pentax camera on to my daughter - and hope that she gets as much joy from photography as I do!
